Iraqi cleric leader urges hostage release

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Haarith al-Thari, chairman of the Islamic Clerics Association, tells Kyodo News in Baghdad on April 13 he hopes the three Japanese civilians held captive in Iraq will be released soon, and that they have not been freed because the hostage-takers are worried about their own safety.
