DaimlerChrysler's Cordes to become outside director for MMC

TOKYO, Japan - Mitsubishi Motors Corp. said April 14 that Eckhard Cordes (file photo), an executive at its German parent DaimlerChrysler AG, will become an outside board member pending approval at a shareholders meeting at the end of April. The decision is seen as an attempt to expedite the work of reviving the struggling Japanese automaker, owned 37% by DaimlerChrysler.
