Algerian detained in France returns to Japan after over 4 yrs

NARITA, Japan - Djamel Hamouni (R), an Algerian permanent resident of Japan, rejoices as he is reunited with his Japanese wife Miki (L) and their children at Narita airport in Chiba Prefecture on Feb. 13 after returning to Japan for the first time since 2004. Ex-abductee Soga voices gratitude for support

SADO, Japan - Former abductee Hitomi Soga speaks at a news conference in Sado, Niigata Prefecture, on Oct. 17 as she marks the fifth anniversary of her repatriation from North Korea. Soga and four other Japanese abductees, abducted by North Korean agents in three separate cases in 1978 from Niigata and Fukui prefectures, were repatriated to Japan on Oct. 15, 2002.

Kin ask gov't to seek early resolution of N. Korea abduction issue

NARITA, Japan - Teruaki Masumoto (L), secretary general of a group of relatives of Japanese abductees, and Tsutomu Nishioka, deputy representative of a group supporting the abductees' families, speak to reporters at Narita airport about their trip to Romania to see the family of a suspected Romanian abductee to North Korea. They met with relatives of Doina Bumbea in southern Romania last week. She went missing in Italy in 1978 and is believed to have been taken to North Korea.
