Assembly adopts resolution urging Gov. Hashimoto to resign
KOCHI, Japan - Daijiro Hashimoto, governor of Kochi Prefecture in western Japan, speaks at a plenary session of the prefectural assembly Oct. 8. The assembly adopted a resolution calling on him to quit over allegations of a shady transaction between a former campaign aide of his and a construction company. Hashimoto, the younger brother of former Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto, resigned after the vote.
