LDP names former premiers to lead drafting of new constitution
TOKYO, Japan - (From L to R) Former prime ministers Yasuhiro Nakasone, Kiichi Miyazawa and Ryutaro Hashimoto attend the Liberal Democratic Party's first meeting of a drafting committee on a new constitution at the party headquarters in Tokyo on Jan. 24. At the meeting, the party endorsed a plan to have 10 subcommittees headed by former prime ministers and other key members draft reports by March on a new constitution.
