Yabu takes off for U.S. to join Athletics

OSAKA, Japan - Japanese veteran right-hander Keiichi Yabu, who has signed a free-agent deal with the Oakland Athletics, waves at fans as he leaves Kansai International Airport for San Francisco, California, on Feb. 8. ''I'm not nervous at all. I feel happy that I will be able to play baseball in this new place,'' Yabu said of his new adventure in the major leagues.
