(1)China approves H.K. chief Tung's resignation

BEIJING, China - Chinese President Hu Jintao (C) shakes hands with outgoing Hong Kong Chief Executive Tung Chee-hwa after the end of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference at the Great Hal of the People in Beijing on March 12. Later in the day China's State Council approved Tung's resignation from the No. 1 post in Hong Kong.
