Upper house panel split on putting SDF clause in Constitution

TOKYO, Japan - Members of the House of Councillors Research Commission on the Constitution on April 20 adopt a final report that called for revising the Constitution but fell short of reaching a consensus on the core issues, particularly the Self-Defense Forces' status and whether to revise the war-renouncing Article 9.
