Cobra Gold exercise kicks off in Thailand

CHIANG MAI, Thailand - Military officers from countries taking part in an annual joint military exercise organized by Thailand and the United States pose for photos at a ceremony marking the start of the 12-day Cobra Gold 2005 operation. A total of 6,000 military personnel from the United States, Thailand, Japan and Singapore are participating in the exercise, with South Korea, China and Pakistan taking part as observers.
