(2)Toshiba, Microsoft reach comprehensive cross-licensing pact

TOKYO, Japan - File photo shows the headquarters in Washington of U.S. software giant Microsoft Corp. which has signed a comprehensive cross-licensing agreement on mutual use of patents with Japanese electronics maker Toshiba Corp. Informed sources said that the deal will allow the two companies to save time and costs for developing digital consumer electronics, without negotiating and concluding a license contract for each patent.
