LDP lawmaker withdrew shrine remark in China meeting: sources
BEIJING, China - Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party Secretary General Tsutomu Takebe (L) meets Wang Jiarui (R, front), head of the International Department of the Chinese Communist Party's Central Committee, in Beijing on May 21. In the meeting, Takebe took back comments about Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi's visits to the war-linked Yasukuni Shrine after facing anger from Wang, sources informed about Japan-China relations said May 23.
