Toyota chief voices readiness to set up fuel cell venture with GM
NAGOYA, Japan - Toyota Motor Corp. President Katsuaki Watanabe says in an interview with Kyodo News on July 11 that the company may decide, possibly in August, to set up a joint venture with General Motors Corp. to expedite technological innovations for fuel cell cars. ''It is significant for us to cooperate with GM'' in developing more advanced fuel cell cars, said Watanabe took over Toyota's presidency on June 23, replacing Fujio Cho.
