Gov't keeps assessment unchanged, ups business confidence
TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi (C) presides over a meeting his economic ministers called to discuss a monthly economic report for July at his office on July 12. The government kept its overall assessment of Japan's economy unchanged for the second straight month, after raising it in June for the first time in 11 months based on improved personal spending and employment conditions.
