2 ships collide in Seto Inland Sea

YANAI, Japan - The South Korean-flagged freighter Pine Pia sustained damage in its stem when the vessel collided with the Cyprus-registered freighter Asia Concerto in waters some 4 kilometers south of Heigun Island, Yamaguchi Prefecture, on Aug. 10. Asia Concerto sank, leaving a Filipino crew member missing.

                FUKUE, Japan - The fishing boat Yamada Maru No.2, which sank in January with 10 people on board in the sea off Nagasaki Prefecture, is raised with a crane by a salvage vessel on June 13, 2010. A body believed to be that of a crew member was recovered from the boat. The bodies of six people, including Japanese and Chinese crew, have already been recovered in previous searches.
