Nintendo to launch tiny Game Boy micro this fall

OSAKA, Japan - Nintendo Co. said Aug. 18 it will launch tiny game gadget ''Game Boy micro'' (shown in handout photo) in Japan and overseas this fall targeting customers in their 20s to 40s. The company expects global sales of 4 million units by next March after starting the sales on Sept. 13 in Japan, on Sept. 19 in the United States and on Nov. 4 in European countries.

The company imported a total of 47.17 million bottles of the water from the United States. Eligible for the recall are bottles with the consume-by dates of June 1, 2010, through Aug. 19 of the same year printed on them.

Sales of Sharp's TV mobile phones top 5 million in 17 months

OSAKA, Japan - Sales of Sharp Corp.'s TV-equipped mobile phones (photo) have topped 5 million units in Japan since the first models hit the market in May last year, the company said Nov. 2. Overall, domestic shipments of TV mobile phones by all domestic makers totaled 13.2 million units as of the end of August, according to Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association. Sharp, the industry leader, says it will start shipping thinner TV mobile phones later this month that measure 18 millimeters in thickness, 5 mm thinner than the thinnest available models.

Nintendo to launch new Game Boy Advance game

OSAKA, Japan - Nintendo Co. said July 13 it will launch a new game for its hand-held Game Boy Advance console (shown in photo) July 21 that can be played by up to four people. Mario Kart Advance, a version of the popular Mario Kart game for the console, is meant to stimulate sales of Game Boy Advance, launched in March, by introducing it at the beginning of summer recess for schoolchildren, Nintendo officials said.

Nintendo begins marketing updated Game Boy machine

OSAKA, Japan - People form a long queue at an electronic appliance shop in Osaka's Naniwa Ward on March 21 to buy Nintendo Co.'s Game Boy Advance, successor to the world's top-selling Game Boy handheld machine. Nintendo plans to produce a total of 1 million units of the new version by the end of March with a shipment target of 24 million units within the next year. The machine will be launched in the United States in June.

Nintendo to market electronic Pokemon card in fall

TOKYO, Japan - Video game giant Nintendo Co. said March 7 it will launch new Game Boy Advance portable console (in handout photo) in Japan on March 21, in the United States on June 11, in Europe and Australia at about the same time, and in other overseas markets by the end of June. The firm said it will market an electronic Pokemon card in the fall which will allow gamers to play with Pokemon animated characters using Game Boy Advance.
