Japan plans to put lighthouse on disputed Pacific isle
TOKYO, Japan - The Japan Coast Guard has decided to build a lighthouse on Okinotori Island (photo taken in April 2005), Japan's southernmost island, government officials said Aug. 25. China disputes Japan's territorial claim, saying Okinotori is not an island but merely a rock.
