World rowing championships start in central Japan
KAIZU, Japan - The world rowing championships held for the first time in Asia opened at the Nagaragawa International Regatta Course in Gifu Prefecture, central Japan, on Aug. 29, one day behind schedule due to Typhoon Mawar. The event runs through Sept. 4.
