Japan, China split over gas fields but agree to meet again
TOKYO, Japan - Chief Chinese delegate Cui Tiankai leaves the Japanese Foreign Ministry in Tokyo on Oct. 1 after talks with Japan on Chinese gas and oil exploration in East China Sea fields. The two countries remained at odds but agreed to meet again later this month to weigh possible joint development.
