Court rejects damages claim over Koizumi's Yasukuni visits

TAKAMATSU, Japan - Plaintiffs and their lawyers in a lawsuit over Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi's visits to Tokyo's war-related Yasukuni Shrine speak at a news conference Oct. 5. They expressed dissatisfaction with a Takamatsu High Court ruling rejecting their compensation demands without ruling on the visits' constitutionality.
