Retrial of wartime repression case begins
YOKOHAMA, Japan - Bereaved relatives and defense lawyers head to the Yokohama District Court on Oct. 17. The court began a retrial of five people, now deceased, convicted six decades ago in the so-called Yokohama Incident, often described as the worst wartime case in Japan involving the repression of freedom of speech.
