Single-serving 'rice cooker' popular among elderly, businessmen
NAGASAKI, Japan - Photo shows a ceramic rice bowl that can cook a single serving of rice in a microwave. The new product, ''Takitate Ichizen'' (a freshly cooked cup of rice), developed by a ceramic ware wholesaler named Yamashita Toki in the town of Hasami, Nagasaki Prefecture, has been popular among the elderly and businessmen living away from their families, who have often ended up with too much cooked rice whenever they used rice cookers.
