U.S. envoy stresses safety of American beef

TOKYO, Japan - U.S. Ambassador to Japan Thomas Schieffer (L) eats American beef in a meal hosted by U.S. meat trade and retail businesses, touting the safety of American beef. Japan lifted Dec. 12 the two-year-old ban of U.S. beef that it had instated due to concerns over mad cow disease.
