Yankees' Matsui to sit out WBC

FUKUOKA, Japan - Sadaharu Oh, manager of Japan's squad to play at the World Baseball Classic in March 2006, speaks with reporters at Fukuoaka airport on Dec. 27 about New York Yankees outfielder Hideki Matsui's decision not to joint the team. ''He wrote saying how important it was for him to try and become a world champion at the Yankees next season,'' said Oh. ''It's disappointing but I can understand.''
