DPJ seeks to settle Livedoor-e-mail controversy with nobody resigning
KYOTO, Japan - Seiji Maehara, president of the main opposition Democratic Party of Japan, speaks at a meeting in Kyoto on Feb. 25. He ruled out stepping down as party leader over the controversy surrounding the credibility of an e-mail that a DPJ lawmaker claimed revealed a shady money transfer involving a top ruling party official.
