Tigers' Kanemoto marks record of 904 consecutive games
OSAKA, Japan - Hanshin Tigers' cleanup hitter Tomoaki Kanemoto holds up a memorial plate given for his record of playing in 904 consecutive games without missing an inning at a game against Yokohama BayStars at Osaka Dome on April 9. Kanemoto exceeded what is believed to be a major league record held by former Baltimore Orioles star Cal Ripken Jr.
