China unveils dam of nearly completed Three Gorges Project
YICHANG, China - The giant dam structure of China's Three Gorges hydropower project, the world's largest, is unveiled to foreign reporters on May 17, three days ahead of a completion ceremony set for May 20. The 2,309-meter-long, 185-meter-high concrete dam structure spans the middle section of the Yangtze River near Yichang in central China's Hubei Province.
