Toyota begins production of Camry car in China's Guangzhou

GUANGZHOU, China - Toyota Motor Corp. begins production of its Camry car in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, on May 23. Toyota will initially produce 50,000 Camry cars a year at Guangzhou Toyota Motor Co., set up in 2004 jointly with Guangzhou Automobile Group Co. Output will be boosted to 100,000 vehicles when the plant goes into full operation.

Honda said on April 14 that Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co. in Wuhan, Hubei Province, is capable of producing 30,000 CR-Vs annually and plans to boost the figure to 120,000 in the future.
