Putin calls on Japan to move for solution on isles row
MOSCOW, Russia - Russian President Vladimir Putin speaks at a meeting with representatives of news agencies from the Group of Eight nations at his official residence in a Moscow suburb on June 2. Putin said that Russia is ''keen to resolve'' all problems related to the past with Japan but criticized Japan's approach in previous negotiations on a bilateral dispute over a group of Russian-held islands off northern Japan. He urged Tokyo to move toward a solution.
