Koizumi expects power struggle over LDP presidential race

TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi (R, top) tells LDP lawmakers in a meeting at the Diet on June 16 that a power struggle toward his Liberal Democratic Party's presidential election in September will begin after the current Diet session ends June 18.
