Japan agrees with U.S. on lifting beef import ban
TOKYO, Japan - Japan and the United States agreed June 21 after marathon talks that Japan will lift its reinstated ban on American beef after inspecting U.S. meatpacking plants to confirm safeguard measures against mad cow disease, Japanese government officials said.
