Emperor Hirohito vexed at Yasukuni's honoring war criminals
TOKYO, Japan - A memorandum written by former Imperial Household Agency Grand Steward Tomohiko Tomita in 1988 reveals that Emperor Hirohito expressed strong displeasure over Yasukuni Shrine's decision in the late 1970s to include Class-A war criminals from World War II in the list of people honored there.
