Tokushima city sets running fine noodle record

TOKUSHIMA, Japan - People from the city of Mima, Tokushima Prefecture, succeed in running fine noodles over a record 1,527-meter stretch as part of a campaign to rejuvenate the western Japanese city on Aug. 27. Staff released fine noodles into the course made of about 200 bamboos and local residents and other participants poured water into the stretch to help achieve the feat in about 2 hours and 50 minutes.
