Social Insurance Agency workers punished over pension scandal
TOKYO, Japan - Kiyoshi Murase (R), director general of Japan's Social Insurance Agency, apologizes Aug. 28 after his agency announced punishment of 1,752 employees the same day over a scandal in which they improperly exempted people from national pension dues to help pretend better performances in collecting the premiums.
