Military seizes power in Thailand in coup, ousts Thaksin
BANGKOK, Thailand - Thai soldiers check cars at a checkpoint near Government House in Bangkok on Sept. 20. The military said in a statement it has taken control of Bangkok and its vicinity, wresting power from Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
