Abe wins Japan's ruling party leadership, to become premier
TOKYO, Japan - Chief Cabinet Secretary Shinzo Abe (2nd from R) shakes hands with Foreign Minister Taro Aso (far L), Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi (2nd from L) and Finance Minister Sadakazu Tanigaki (far R) after winning the Liberal Democratic Party presidential election at the LDP headquarters in Tokyo on Sept. 21. Abe beat his two rivals in the election, Foreign Minister Aso and Finance Minister Tanigaki.
