No-confidence motion voted down in lower house
TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Shinzo Abe looks as former Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi prepares to cast his ballot against a no-confidence motion submitted by four opposition parties against the Cabinet in the House of Representatives on Dec. 15. The lower chamber voted down the motion sponsored by the Democratic Party of Japan, the Japanese Communist Party, the Social Democratic Party and the People's New Party.
