Senior Japanese lawmaker Yamasaki leaves for N. Korea
BEIJING, China - Taku Yamasaki, a senior lawmaker of Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party, responds to questions from reporters at Beijing airport on Jan. 9 prior to his departure for North Korea. His visit comes at a time when Japan-North Korea relations have been deadlocked due to the North's missile launchings and nuclear test, and the two countries' dispute over the abduction of Japanese nationals.
