Abe sees white-collar exemption as difficult
TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Shinzo Abe speaks with reporters at his office on Jan. 16. He indicated he may give up a plan to submit bills for the introduction of a so-called white-collar exemption system to parliament during its regular session in the first half of this year. ''I don't think we have gained the people's understanding about the system at present,'' Abe told reporters when asked about the system to exempt some white-collar workers from work-hour regulations.
