Fujiya had food poisoning incident in 1995, officials say

SAGA, Japan - Sanitation officials walk into the Kyushu factory of Fujiya Co., embroiled in a scandal over using ingredients whose use-by date had expired in confectionery products, for inspection on Jan. 17. Company officials in Tokyo said that they experienced a food poisoning incident caused by one of the products in 1995, but the case did not become widely known.
