Japan economy marks 5-yr expansion despite weak consumption

TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Shinzo Abe(2nd from left) presides over a meeting of the Cabinet Council on Economic Ministers at his office on Jan. 22. The government confirmed in a monthly report released at the meeting that the Japanese economy has grown for a record 60th consecutive month in the longest postwar boom, but maintained its view that consumption remains weak.
