'Ume' festival' begins at Kairakuen Park in Mito
MITO, Japan - Visitors enjoy watching plum blossoms at Kairakuen Park, one of Japan's three most celebrated landscape gardens in Mito, on Feb. 20 as the annual ''Ume (Japanese plum)' blossoms festival begins there. Some 1.4 million people are expected to visit the garden during the festival which runs until March 31.
