Hirohito discontent with Yasukuni's honoring Class-A war criminals
TOKYO, Japan - A file photo taken in February 1982 shows Emperor Hirohito and Ryogo Urabe (2nd from L), a chamberlain of the Imperial Household Agency, leaving the Diet building after an opening session of parliament. Emperor Hirohito was discontent with Yasukuni Shrine's enshrining of Class-A World War II criminals and concerned about disputes with other Asian countries over history, according to the diaries kept by Urabe.
