Gov't panel agrees Japan should intercept U.S.-bound missiles
TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Shinzo Abe (C) addresses a government panel of opinion leaders on Japan's collective self-defense policy at a meeting held at the prime minister's official residence on June 29. The panel agreed that Japan should intercept ballistic missiles aimed at the United States, an act that would require a Constitution reinterpretation to enable the exercising of the currently banned right to collective self-defense.
