Ex-Fed vice chairman urges 'aggressive' interest rate cut
WASHINGTON, United States - Former Federal Reserve Vice Chairman Alan Blinder hopes the U.S. central bank will lower its base interest rate ''aggressively'' with a 0.5 percentage point cut at its policy-setting meeting on Sept. 18. Blinder expressed hope in a telephone interview with Kyodo News ahead of the high-profile Federal Open Market Committee meeting.
