Venus Williams falls to Virginie Razzano in Japan Open final
TOKYO, Japan - No. 5 seed Virginie Razzano of France lifts the winner's trophy after defeating top seed Venus Williams 4-6, 7-6 (9-7), 6-4 in the Japan Open final at Ariake Tennis Forest Park in Tokyo on Oct. 6. It was the second WTA victory for Razzano, ranked 33rd in the world. She won her first career WTA title in Guangzhou, China, the previous week.
