Nippon Paper Group to cut production capacity by 231,000 tons

TOKYO, Japan - Masatomo Nakamura, president of Nippon Paper Group Inc., Japan's second-largest papermaker, tells reporters in Tokyo on Oct. 24 the company will reduce its manufacturing capacity for paper products by about 231,000 tons a year, or about 5 percent of annual output, by closing down facilities at three plants next year due to a glut in the domestic market.
