Upper house OKs bill to limit use of pension premiums
TOKYO, Japan - House of Councillors members from the main opposition Democratic Party of Japan applaud after an upper house plenary session passed a DPJ-sponsored bill to limit the government's use of pension premiums Nov. 2. It marked the first passage in the upper house of a bill introduced by the DPJ, which along with the other opposition parties has come to control the upper house of the Diet since a national election in July.
