Upper house panel begins deliberations on antiterrorism law
TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda (R) responds to questions during a session of the House of Councillors' Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense on Dec. 4 as ruling and opposition lawmakers started substantive deliberations on a bill that would allow Japan to resume its refueling support for a multinational fleet engaged in antiterrorism operations in and near Afghanistan.
