Law to enhance political funds transparency enacted

TOKYO, Japan - Members of the House of Councillors passed and enacted a law Dec. 21 aimed at increasing the transparency of political funds flow. The amended Political Funds Control Law obliges lawmakers to keep receipts for every yen of spending and disclose them upon request. The House of Representatives cleared it the previous day.
