NHK President Hashimoto to resign over insider trading by staff
TOKYO, Japan - Genichi Hashimoto (L), the president of public broadcasting company NHK, said at a news conference in Tokyo on Jan. 21 that he has told of his intention to resign over the revelation of insider stock trading by a reporter and a few other staffers just a few days before Jan. 24 when his term of office expires. Hashimoto also said two of NHK's 10 managing directors -- one in charge of legal compliance and the other in charge of news reports -- will resign Jan. 22 over the questionable stock trading.
